Clackclose District is part of Girlguiding. We enable girls to discover their potential, providing them with opportunities to thrive and actively participate, regardless of their background or abilities. Our mission is to give them a supportive space to grow and encourage them to make a difference. We offer a safe space for young people to develop lifelong friendships and acquire essential life skills.
We are raising funds for Clackclose District based in Downham Market. There are 9 units in this district, which are made up of around 100 young people aged between 5 and 18 who meet weekly. These units include Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and a Ranger unit. These units are run by dedicated volunteers leaders to ensure the happiness and well-being of our members. Leaders work hard to create a safe space for our young members where they can freely express themselves, build confidence, and thrive in their personal and social development.
Any money raised will go towards supporting units to subsidise costs to keep it affordable to all members and families. We want to maintain an engaging and fun program, allowing it to be accessible to all who want to join and those who are already active members, particularly when it comes to trips and experiences. Girlguiding is for all girls, and we don't want anyone to miss out on being part of this amazing organisation.
To support us, you can take part in the Women's World Cup Race. You can buy a virtual balloon for just £3, between now and the start date, using the blue tab at the bottom of this page. You can even gift balloons! The race starts 13th August 2023 at 12pm. The race will be 7 days long and the winning balloon is the one that has flown the furthest, as measured in a straight line from the launch location.
You will be able to name, decorate and alter the parameters of your balloon which will effect how it flies. The race uses real weather conditions including wind speed and current temperature.
This is a national race, and there are other charities and organisations taking part. This means that your balloon is competing individually. The national race are offering 2 prizes:
1.£100 cash
2. Amazon Alexa / Echo Dot 4th Generation!
Clackclose District Guiding will also be offering the top 10 balloons who supported us a thank you badge, and the top 2 Balloons a mystery prize – It’s all to play for!
You will need to create an account when buying a balloon, as this allows you to track it’s progress all week via the dashboard. It also ensures eco racing can contact you if your balloon wins the national race. You can buy as many balloons as you would like (£3 per balloon) which increases your chance of winning. Once the race has started you will be unable to buy more balloons or make any changes to it. Every balloon bought will help towards our goal of a new kitchen.
