EastSeaxe IST are a group of Scouting and Guiding volunteers that are lucky enough to have been selected to represent Essex and GLN as part of the UK Contingent at the 25th World Scout Jamboree in the Summer 2023.

The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is an international event running every 4 years, where over 40000 scouts from around the world gather in one country. The 25th WSJ will be hosted by South Korea.

At the jamboree, EastSeaxe IST will be as part of a global volunteer team that is know as the International Service Team (IST). They role at the jamboree will be to work alongside the organisers to make the jamboree happen and run smoothly. As well as to ensure it is the best experience possible for the young people by setting up and running the activities, providing catering, and service jobs on the campsite.

How does ecoracing work?
Each balloon costs £4. You can buy as many balloons as you like and customize them to your own taste. You can change the size/shape/thickness of your balloon and how much helium it has in it. This can all impact on its chances in the race. There's a prize of £100 for the balloon from all WSJ fundraisers across the UK that travels the furthest in the week long virtual race.
During the week-long race, you'll be able to follow your balloon's progress by logging onto this site.
Check out the race guide if you want to know more about how a virtual balloon race works.
