Trefoil Guild UK have been asked by the Girl Guides (& Girl Scouts) Association of Thailand (GGAT) to assist them on a project at their training centre in Wiang Pa Pao in the north east of Thailand. In partnership with GGAT the team of 8 representatives (of which I, Heather Simpson, am one) of Trefoil Guild UK - TOPAZ Thailand 2023 - are going to help with putting up barbed wire fencing around the building. We are also going to be meeting with and doing activities with members of GGAT around recycling/ sustainability/ food storage and disposal of waste in a safe and healthy way to support girls and women. We will also be promoting Guiding for Adults (Trefoil) as they do not currently have anything like this there. Girls have to leave guiding when they leave school/at age 20 unless they become a teacher as all guiding is facilitated through the school and the leaders are teachers in the school.
