Friends of Newtown Soberton Infant School would like to invite you to participate in our ‘Virtual Balloon Race’ which sets off in the Sahara on 8th August 2020 and will last for one week. It’s real, but totally online.
Let’s fill the sky with lots of Virtual balloons in an environmentally fun race with no risk to wildlife or birds. This is a family fun activity and almost a 'school day' for the children! Design your own balloon online (art lesson), decide on its weight, thickness and shape to enable it to deal with weather conditions on route (science lesson) and you get to follow every day for 7 days as it flies across the world but how far will yours get? (Geography lesson). And, of course you get to support our wonderful School with your £3 a balloon donation.
The monies raised from this event will go towards new resources to enhance our children’s outdoor learning experiences.
Don't forget to give your balloon(s) a name so you can spot them when the race starts. Name one for each family member and create your own race as you can see where each of you finish.
The Event Prizes are:
• 1st Prize - £500
• 2nd Prize – Apple iPad
