My name is Jordi Ballester, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and in 2020 I will leading a volunteer medical team partnering the charity Stand By Me to provide urgent healthcare to children in the village of Bekoji, Ethiopia. Our primary objective is to develop a school and healthcare centre that provides both immediate and sustainable future medical care to the children and their parents. All from the NW of England, our multi-disciplinary team of experts includes GPs, surgeons, paediatricians, rheumatologists, nurses, teachers and members of my family.
But whilst all our volunteer team are self-funded, we crucially need general public support for medical supplies, building materials and educational products. So please buy lots of 100% eco-friendly virtual balloons so that we can help these desperately poor children now and in the future.
