Katie's International Girlguiding Toronto Trip 2021

My name is Katie, and I am lucky to have been selected to represent Girlguiding Worcestershire on an International trip to Canada in the summer of 2021. In order to take part in this amazing opportunity I need to raise £2500. I have already started my fundraising by holding a cake sale at school, bag packing at local supermarkets. Unfortunately further events we had been planning have had to be cancelled due to the current COVID-19 pandemic . I would be very much appreciate if you could consider this request for a donation and any contribution you can offer would be gratefully received.

The trip to Canada will be an amazing experience. I will be travelling with seven other young members of Girlguiding Worcestershire and our two leaders. In March 2019 we all attended a selection weekend, where we meet each other for the first time. Since then we have met three times and have really started to bond as a team. However due to current social distancing restrictions we have not been able to met face to face since March, we are all excited to meet again and continue to get to know each other. While in Canada we will be travelling and exploring, meeting up with members of Girl Guides of Canada, and completing a variety to challenges and mystery missions.

When I return from Canada, I look forward to being able to share my experiences with girls in my unit and beyond, so that I can inspire them to travel and experience the fantastic opportunities Girlguiding has to offer. I also look forward to using the skills I have gained as part of my trip, such as teamwork, communications and advocacy to develop peoples awareness of the benefits of being involved with youth organisations with particular reference to Girlguiding.
