My name is Barbara and I am a volunteer in the FutureSense Foundation. I am 18 years old and I learned about the Foundation from my University in Bristol. My this year's goal is to go to Peru (specifically to Urubamba) to help children to learn and practice their English. This small town located in the Sacred Valley has a population of 16 000 people and it is estimated to have 12% of the population lacking literacy skills. This leads to increased poverty and percentages of unemployment. No poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, climate action, reduced inequalities, partnerships for our goals are some of our goals that we have been trying to achieve since 2009. We are located in multiple countries and we focus on traveling abroad and help people in need. We rely on our volunteers to deliver our programs and support our communities, and since it is now unsafe to travel, we have lost much of the support from our volunteers. This has impacted our funding and put at risk our ability to support our vulnerable communities overseas. A crisis like this is when the most vulnerable around the world need us the most, and we are determined to continue to support them.
