Swimming is Britain's most popular participation sport; it's also one of our most successful Olympic sports. Atlantis Swimming Club began in 1979 and is one of Sussex's leading competitive swimming clubs, with swimmers consistently achieving national qualifying times year on year.

We provide a structured, safe, motivating and friendly environment in which all our swimmers have the opportunity to realise their full potential. So at all times we strive for excellence; aspire to success; recognise and celebrate endeavour - and we never forget the importance of having fun along the way.

We offer swimming training and competition for all ages 7 and above. In total we deliver over 40 hours of training per week (pre covid) under the leadership of the Head Coach and a skilled and experienced team of coaches. Atlantis is affiliated to the South East Region of Swim England and also holds the SwimMark accreditation.

At this time of year, we usually hold a Christmas party and awards ceremony to raise much needed money to support our club. That is not possible this year, this virtual balloon race is a fun environmentally friendly way to fundraise, it's fun for the whole family and does not hurt the wildlife!

We have chosen the Christmas Day Race, all the balloons will be launched from Santa's village in Lapland. Prizes include:

* Apple iPad
* 10 lucky winners of £10 Book Tokens

How far will your balloon go? There are no limits to the number of balloons you buy and Atlantis also have prizes for the balloons that travel the furthest for our Club swimmers, families and supporters. We hope you have fun designing and decorating your balloon, don't forget to check the weather, it's chilly in the North Pole!

All funds that we raise from the Christmas Day Race will go towards keeping Atlantis swimming and winning until we can once again hold our open meets and usual fundraising events that help the club meet its financial commitments.

Over the competing season, Atlantis hold 3 Open Meets, one in Winter, Spring and Summer and inside the qualifying window for major regional and national competitions, they are always well attended by swimming clubs and spectators and provide the essential funds needed for us to survive. As a not-for-profit organisation, these meets are essential for us to fund the club’s financial commitments throughout the year.

We have had an amazing response to our fundraising projects and we hope that you enjoy the balloon racing - although not in the pool, there are still awards for winning and achieving pb's!
