Welcome to the Hale Academy PTA’s first ever Virtual Balloon Race!

We would love you to take part in our Christmas Day Race to help raise funds for our School. This balloon race is completely virtual so environmentally friendly too!!! Hale Academy Parent Teacher Association (PTA) raises funds to help support the school and provide equipment and activities for the children. However, due to the current Covid situation we are unable to run our usual hugely popular Christmas fair, so with no Christmas raffle or bottle tombola we hope you and your children, friends, family, Grandparents & neighbours will enjoy supporting us with this fabulous fun virtual event.

How do you join in the fun?

• Buy your balloons. You’ve got to be in it to win it! Each balloon costs just £3 and you can buy as many balloons as you want to help us continue to raise funds in this extraordinary year. To buy your balloons click on the button below!

• You can personalise your balloons. Have some fun giving your balloon a name! Choose its’s colour, shape and pattern!

• The direction and distance the balloons fly is based completely on the way you customise your balloon, and the weather during the week.

• Other hazards can also affect your balloon's flight such as low flying geese if your balloon doesn't have enough helium!

• You can track your balloon as often as you want. The race last 7 days and uses real live weather data!!

• The winner of the race is the balloon that’s flown the furthest in ANY direction.

The race launches at 12 noon on Christmas Day from Santa’s Village in Lapland. Make sure your balloons are ready!!!

PRIZES!
• 1st prize £500
• 2nd prize Apple Ipad
• 3rd prize 10 lucky winners to win £10 book tokens.

The race is National so you will see balloons from other schools and charities, but we also have some fabulous prices just for Hale Academy entries!!!

HALE ACADEMY PRIZES

For the top Hale Balloons who fly the furthest there will also be:

• 1st Hale place – £30 cash
• 2nd Hale place – £20
• 3rd Hale place – £10
