The current pandemic is changing all of our lives but it is the most deprived communities in our region that are suffering the most.

Alongside this, we've had to cancel or postpone our usual fundraising events which our supporters usually attend and donate to. Without these regular fundraising events, Children North East have missed out on additional donations at a time when they are most needed.

So we're taking part in this virtual balloon race and would love you to join in. You can buy a virtual balloon, customise it and then race it for a chance to win prizes while raising money to support babies, children, young people and families across the North East.

Virtual balloons for the Easter Race are just £3 each. You'll get a chance to personalise the balloons and then battle against other people to try and win the race. The balloons "launch" on 4 April from Istanbul, Turkey. The race lasts for 7 days and you can follow the race in real-time online - it is completely dictated by real-life weather conditions so your balloon could go far!!

As part of the race you'll have the chance to battle against 1000's of entrants taking part in the same EcoRace for some amazing prizes:
1st place: £500 Cash
2nd place: Apple iPad
3rd to 12th place: £10 Book Token

The winner of Team Children North East will receive a copy of Monsters Inc on DVD donated by Tesco, Kingston Park, Newcastle!
