Valentines Virtual Balloon Race.

During the pandemic nearly a million over 65-year-olds spend at least 5 days a week without seeing or speaking to anyone. We don’t think that anyone should be completely alone - especially during a third national lockdown - which is why we are working harder than ever to support older people in Waltham Forest.

By taking part in our virtual balloon race for £3 you can help us provide much needed company and support through our Befriending service, digital inclusion sessions and weekly exercise classes.

Name your balloon after a loved one and it will set off from the Eiffel Tower, Paris at 12pm on the 14th February! It will fly online for 7 days. Current live weather data will determine the progress of each balloon. Your balloon can be tracked on Google Maps once launched. So make sure you select the best balloon!

You could also try racing between friends and family, who will get the furthest?

National Prizes: 1. £500 Cash, 2. Apple iPad, 3. 10 lucky winners of £10 Book Tokens

Age UK WF Prizes: The furthest balloon will win a £25 Costa coffee voucher. 2nd and 3rd will win a gift hamper each.
