// ABOUT MYCWA

My CWA provide emotional, personal & practical support for families in Cheshire affected by domestic abuse. We help survivors, children, people who harm, worried friends and family.

We would like to make our centre much more comfortable for vulnerable families to come and see us for all manner of assistance. From 1-2-1 sessions with a domestic abuse counsellor through to our coffee and chat groups.

A better equipped and decorated centre will also help us when holding our lunch and learn meetings for professionals such as social workers, teachers and first responders from the local community.

Fundraising is absolutely essential to the success of My CWA. The challenges presented to most charities over the last 12 months have not escaped us and sadly instances of domestic abuse have risen during lockdowns and the pandemic (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55073229)

The need for refuge, counselling and care packages are just some elements of support we have continued to provide. By just buying two balloons you will fund a cake coffee and chat for someone in our centre. A safe, confidential space for someone to start their journey to repair. 4 Balloons will fund a care pack for a family which contains essential items like nappies and toiletries.

// THE RACE

Balloons will will ‘set off’ from the centre of Istanbul at 12pm on 4th April for 7 Days.

It’s a seven-day computer simulation race where everything is real except the balloon! The software uses current live weather data to determine the progress of each balloon and each entry can be tracked on Google Maps and Satellites once the race has launched. It has no negative environmental impact on all wildlife, climate change, plastic waste or litter.
