Our brilliant, bubbly and bold friend Beth was dealt a huge blow in 2018 when she was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in her eye. It's extremely rare, very difficult to detect, and if it spreads half of sufferers don't survive. Beth's has spread, but there may be hope – chemosaturation with percutaneous hepatic perfusion (“Delcath”). Currently unavailable on the NHS, four to six treatments are recommended. Generally two are attempted first, and if the results are positive, a further four. At £40,000 a go this seems to be the stuff that dreams are made of but Beth is a dreamer and so is her army so we're fundraising so Beth can pursue this.
