We are raising funds to lift school children in Malawi off the floor and onto desks. There are 80 children in Class 5B at Thondwe primary school sitting on a dusty floor and our aim is to provide 40 desks to improve their chances of an education. The desks costing £40 each, seat two children and provide local employment in Malawi for a joiner, a welder and an apprentice.
So, help us with our fundraising effort please, we are asking if you can buy a balloon for Halloween and join us in this race! A balloon costs £3 and you can buy as many as you like. You can even gift them to family and friends. When you gift a balloon, your recipient will be given a code which they can use to register their own balloon. You can design your own colour, pattern, name of balloon and you can even decide how much helium to put in it.
Everything about the race is real except the balloon which is virtual and very environmentally friendly.
The balloon race will start at 12 noon on 31st October and lasts for 7 days. You will be able to track your balloon online. The direction of the balloon and how fast it goes depends on the real weather forecast.
