In 2014 our 75 year old building was flooded causing devastating damage, this meant we had to close for several months while everything dried, was fixed or was replaced it also became clear that if this was to happen again our building would not survive. SInce then we have been fundrasing for a new building so that we can continue to provide the Sea Cadet experience to as many young people as possible. The new building will provide a Galley where Cadets can learn catering and Stewarding, a Main Deck for praticing Drill and training, Classrooms for teaching subjects such as First Aid, Seamanship, Navigation and Meteorology and Chanaging/wash rooms to aid with water bourne qualifications inculding Kayaking, Rowing and Powerbaoting. This is just an example of some of the things we offer as well as Duke of Edinburgh awards and Btec's. A new building will help us to continue to change young people's lives for the better.
