We are supporters of Rams in Kenya and we support 5, soon to be 6 slum schools in Kenya, including Cherish.

ABOUT RAMS IN KENYA
Rams in Kenya is an annual trip to the schools in the slums of Nakuru, Kenya, which invites Derby County fans, Derby County Community Trust supporters or simply anyone with an interest to take the trip of a lifetime and improve life for children in our five partner schools. We work in these schools to improve sanitation, build new classrooms/facilities and increase safety measures. We also support teaching and physical activity within the schools. The schools provide a safe haven for many of the children together with 2 meals every day - for some children this might be the only food they receive as they are mostly street children and children of 1 parent families.
Our aim with ‘Cherish the children’s Balloon Race is to support the feeding programme for the 5 schools that the Rams in Kenya work with.

WHAT IS OUR VIRTUAL BALLOON RACE?

Welcome to our ‘Valentines’ Virtual Balloon Race – a computer simulation race where everything is real except the balloon! It’s 100% eco-friendly with no risk of harm to wildlife.
Each virtual balloon costs just £3 & you can buy as many balloons as you would like.
Setting off from the Eiffel Tower, Paris, the balloons will be ‘released’ on Tuesday, 14th February 2023 at 12pm (noon) and race for 7 days.
Enjoy taking part in this fun event from the comfort of your own home and track your balloons live as they gently float across the virtual sky. Specialist software uses live weather data to determine the progress of each balloon and they can be tracked on Google Maps and satellites once the race has launched. You can alter your balloon’s parameters at any time to increase your chance of winning.
The race finishes on Tuesday 21st February 2023 at 12pm (noon). Winners will be contacted directly and announced on our social media platforms.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Simply sign-up by creating an account for the race (so we know who you are if you win), once you've paid for your balloon you can then name, personalise, and decorate your balloon via your dashboard by choosing the shape, colour, and pattern, plus the helium content and rubber thickness.

Your balloon can be for your loved one, in memory of someone special, a celebration, or just for fun!
Virtual balloons can even be gifted and make a perfect 'virtual' gift. Choose to support the children in the slums of Kenya whilst buying a fun and unique gift.
To buy a balloon as a gift, once you've signed-up, simply purchase a balloon activation code for £3 each & send the code to your family & friends for them to activate. Print it off, pop it in a card or wrap it up for a lovely surprise. To join the race, gift codes must be activated by 11.30am on Tuesday 14th February. The gift recipient can decorate, name, and track their balloon themselves. They may even win a prize!

* 1st prize - £100 cash

CHERISH THE CHILDREN PRIZES - for the top supporters' balloons travelling the furthest in this race:
* 1st prize - £50 cash
* 2nd prize - £25 cash
* Chocolate & wine
* 10th Anniversary limited edition T shirt
HOW YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The vital funds we raise will make a difference to many children who have so little. £500 will buy the children in our schools enough Ugali (staple food) to feed them for a fortnight.
