We are making the world a more accessible, friendly, and welcoming place for people with learning disabilities through our award-winning word-free stories - and we need your help to keep doing it!

People who have difficulty reading or communicating often feel isolated and left out of conversations that affect their lives, as it is assumed they will not understand complex or emotive subjects. Pictures are a shared language, evoking thoughts and feelings in the person reading and relating to them, even if they can’t read words. Our word-free stories and resources support people to deepen their understanding of the world around them, and their own emotions.

Our stories cover many issues, including those of a sensitive nature that everyone should have the opportunity to explore, whatever their abilities. Each title is co-created with people who have lived experience of the topic, and who have a learning or communication difficulty. We work with our audience at every stage, from writing the storyline, to trialling the pictures with groups to make sure they are evocative.
