Hamelin supports autistic people and people with learning disabilities in Essex to live their best lives and cultivate compassionate, equitable communities where they can realise their dreams.

Respite Support
We offer a range of respite services from daytime sessions and holiday breaks to long-term housing for people with profound learning and physical disabilities. Parents, carers and siblings can take time to look after their own welfare, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving high quality care.

Community Support
We know autistic people and people with learning disabilities want to have the same opportunities as everyone else. Our community support services helps people realise their life goals whether that’s to be more independent, find paid work, learn life skills or try different things and make new friends.

Health And Wellbeing
Managing physical and mental health is really important for people to lead a full and meaningful life. Our therapeutic and advisory services help people to improve their mental and physical wellbeing and navigate the health and social care systems.

How does a virtual balloon race work?
The virtual balloons are ‘launched’ at the same time and whichever balloon is furthest from the starting point after 7 days will be declared the winner.

The race is not just a case of luck, your decisions can help or hinder your chances of winning. The race is based on real time weather conditions and you decide how much helium to put in your balloon and how thick the material is.

Thinner material may make the balloon lighter and faster, but it might be more likely to pop, whereas a thicker balloon may be more durable, but slower. Which way are you going to go?!

What’s great about this virtual race is the fact that no real balloons are involved which means it’s much safer for the environment and wildlife, but just as fun to be a part of!

You can also track your balloon throughout the race to see how it’s getting on.



What are the prizes?
The race is organised by EcoRacing with numerous charitable organisations taking part. The overall winner of the race from all entries will win a fantastic £100 with the runner up bagging an Amazon Alexa / Echo Dot 4th generation!

1st – £25 M&S voucher
2nd – £15 Amazon voucher
3rd - £10 Amazon voucher
