After the success of the last Duddingston virtual balloon race, we have decided to participate in another event before the Summer holidays!

As part of their fundraising efforts, Duddingston are looking to harness all the developments they have made in digital learning by acquiring resources to support learning and teaching! The children are gaining confidence with using digital technology to access their learning. For example, using Microsoft Teams as well as a range of other Microsoft apps like Word and PowerPoint. However, they would like to improve the resources they have to support the children’s coding and programming skills from Nursery all the way to Primary 7. The pupils are familiar with simple programming toys, such as BeeBots, but there is scope to improve their curriculum with more up to date robotics and other items, which will engage and challenge the children.

The past year has brought digital technologies to the forefront of our minds like never before and, as a school, Duddingston are really keen to run with this and enhance the provision to make sure the children become as skilled as possible in using a range of resources, which will stand them in good stead for a digital future!

The money raised during this race will be spent on expanding these resources. Balloons are £3 each, please share with friends and family, the more the merrier.

Prizes will be awarded to the top distances travelled. As well as the prizes provided by Ecoracing we have had some amazing donations from local businesses for our entrants which include:
