The Duddingston Primary Fundraising and Events team are looking at new ways to raise funds due to our normal events such as the Spring Fayre being unable to go ahead. We thought a virtual balloon race would be a fun way to do it! The school are taking this time to continue to move forward with plans for an outdoor classroom and increased outdoor learning opportunities for children across the school. Although this was already an important focus, the current situation means outdoor learning becomes even more valuable and important to the children and the school are keen to improve the resources for our children returning in August. Staff are already planning outdoor maths activities for our return, and this would allow all children across the school to be able to engage in valuable learning outdoors with their teachers in all areas of the curriculum, as well as supporting children’s emotional and metal wellbeing through the use of outdoor spaces across the school day for free play as well as learning experiences. The money raised during this race will be spent on expanding these resources. Balloons are £3 each, please share with friends and family, the more the merrier!
