Welcome to HGSPA's 2021 Christmas Day Balloon Race!

Once Santa makes it back to Lapland on Christmas Day, he has agreed to launch our Christmas Day Virtual Balloon Race to help raise funds for the Hutchie 1957 Group.

This balloon race is completely virtual so environmentally friendly.

The 1957 Group aims to raises funds to help support the School by providing extra equipment and facilities for the pupils. This year we are hoping to raise £20,000 for extra facilities at Kingarth Street.

How do you join in the fun?
• Buy your balloons. You’ve got to be in it to win it! Each balloon costs just £3 and you can buy as many balloons as you want to help us continue to raise funds in this extraordinary year. To buy your balloons click on the button below!
• You can personalise your balloons. Have some fun giving your balloon a name! Choose its’s colour, shape and pattern!
• The direction and distance the balloons fly is based completely on the way you customise your balloon, and the weather during the week once it is 'launched'.
• Other hazards can also affect your balloon's flight such as low flying geese, if your balloon doesn't have enough virtual helium, etc.
• You can track your balloon as often as you want. The race last 7 days and uses real live weather data!
• The winner of the race is the balloon that’s flown the furthest in ANY direction.

The race launches virtually at 12noon on 25th December from Santa's Village, Lapland. Make sure your balloons are ready!!!

• 1st prize £500
• 2nd prize Apple Ipad
• 3rd prize 10 lucky winners to winner £10 book tokens.

The race is National so you will see balloons from other schools and charities, but we also have some prices just for Hutchie entries!!!
