NCW is a national residential school and college for young people aged 11 to 19 who are blind or vision impaired.

Every student at NCW has a tailored programme, carefully planned and delivered to meet their individual needs in three key areas; academic achievement, independent living skills and involvement in extracurricular activities at the College and in the community.

The opportunities provided to students in these three areas of provision play a crucial role in the development of confidence and self-esteem and preparation for life beyond our College.

Why donate to NCW?

The majority of our students school fees are paid by their own local authority. This covers the cost of their education and residency and any one-one support a student may need.

However, the costs associated with general maintenance, unexpected repairs, the school refurbishment programme, school vehicles and most trips and activities are paid for by the School, supported as much as possible by our Fundraising department.

We are always very grateful to receive donations that in some way helps to provide our students with the facilities, opportunities and experiences they deserve.

One of our marvellous parents suggested the idea of a virtual balloon race and we think it is fantastic!

Our first race is the QE II Platinum Jubilee Race starting from Westminster Abbey on the 2nd of June.

Over 7 days your eco-friendly balloon will battle against real-life weather conditions. You will be able to follow your balloon’s progress on Google Maps and see how far it goes!

Balloons will be £4 to purchase and once you have purchased your balloon, you can name it, decorate it and determine how much helium and the rubber thickness to what you think will win the race!

The race will feature balloons from a number of charities and you could win:

1st - £500 Cash
2nd - Amazon Alexa / Echo Dot 4th Generation!
3rd - 10 lucky winners of £10 Book Tokens

Good luck, we hope you have fun watching your balloons adventures :)

Our fundraising target is: £500
