Old Dalby Church of England Primary School Parent Teacher Association is a small charity, registered in England, raising funds for Old Dalby Church of England Primary School.

Sadly, since COVID19 has invaded all our lives, an increasing need has been identified at the school for a safe, quiet space for the children to use; a lot of children have really struggled being back at school since the school closures and are needing additional one-on-one sessions to support their mental and educational health. These are currently being held in busy communal areas, none of which are quiet nor private!

This virtual balloon race is the start of our fundraising challenge, named Project Inspiration Room, to raise £15,000 to purchase a new wooden building which will be situated in the school grounds, but separate from the main school. This building will become a therapeutic and intervention space for the children enrolled in the school, where they can go to receive any emotional or additional academic support required.

The space will also be used as a learning opportunity about sustainable living; we hope to install solar panels and a weather station so that the children can develop an understanding of the environment and how to look after it.

You can support our cause by buying balloons and joining our 7-day race starting from Westminster Abbey in London at midday on Wednesday 2nd June 2021.

Once you have purchased your balloon, create your winning design and track the real time progress of your balloon over the next 7 days as it flies over our capital city. Keep your fingers crossed yours will beat the elements and emerge the victor!

Each virtual balloon costs £3 and you can buy or gift as many as you like …... so buy one for you and one for someone else to put a smile on their face in these challenging times. Every purchase raises money for Old Dalby Church of England Primary School PTA’s Project Inspiration Room.

There is also a prize of a West Midland Safari Park Family Pass for 4 (2 adults and 2 children), including theme park wrist bands, for the owner of the Old Dalby School balloon that travels the furthest in the race.

The race finishes at midday on Wednesday 9th June 2021. Old Dalby School PTA will contact the winners by email after the race has finished and the winners are known. All Old Dalby School winners will be announced in the school newsletter, on our social media pages and the Old Dalby, Queensway and Nether Broughton Facebook page.
