Throughout the pandemic, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care has continued to provide supportive and end of life care to patients and families living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. We care for people across West Surrey and North-East Hampshire, at our Hospice in Farnham, Beacon Centre in Guildford, and in patients’ own homes and care homes.

The medical, nursing, therapeutic, emotional and practical support which we give is so important, and during the pandemic it has been even more vital, with restrictions increasing feelings of isolation for many. At a time when people are feeling alone, we are even more determined to be there for them. Our IPU is open 24/7, and our Living Well and Care at Home teams are using phone and video calls, doorstep deliveries and home visits wearing PPE to continue providing our care.

We have to raise over £20,000 a day to provide our services. With our shops closed during the lockdowns, and many of our fundraising events cancelled, we are having a difficult year. We hope you will join in this balloon race to help us raise vital funds this Christmas.

For every four balloons we sell, we could buy a protective visor for one of our doctors, nurses or therapists who are caring for patients on our IPU or in patients’ own homes.

Ten balloons could pay for Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, for a patient and visitor on our IPU.

And twenty balloons could cover the cost of two hour’s care from one of our IPU nurses, who each care for up to five patients.

With your support, we can continue to be there for our patients and their families, when we’re needed the most.
