Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care continues to provide supportive and end of life care to our patients and their families from across West Surrey and North East Hampshire who are living with a terminal illness throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Through our 18-bed In-Patient Unit and Care at Home services we are seeing an increased number of patients, to help ease the pressure on our NHS colleagues and local hospitals. Our medical and clinical staff are continuing to provide 24-hour front line care throughout the pandemic, ensuring that those who need our vital care can still access it.

However as we only receive 20% funding from the NHS we have to raise £20,000 a day and with the temporary closure of all 18 shops and the cancellation/postponement of the majority of our fundraising events and activities we are facing a difficult year. We have never faced a challenge like this before so we hope you will join in with this balloon race to raise vital funds.

For example - for every 2 balloons we sell we could buy 100 disposable overshoes and aprons for our Medical and Nursing teams, to help slow the spread of infection or for every 10 balloons sold could help us buy an anti-Coronavirus mask for a Doctor and a Nurse caring for patients on our In-Patient Unit and in patients’ own homes.
