Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a charity providing specialist care and support for adults and children with a life-limiting illness in Bucks and west Herts. Through our unique Hospice at Home service, available day and night, and a range of day services we support our patients to live the best quality life they can with a choice about how and where they are cared for towards the end of life. We also care for the families of our patients, ensuring that everyone can receive the right support, when they need it, to help them make every moment together matter.

EASTER VIRTUAL BALLOON RACE – 4 APRIL 2021
Have some fun this Easter and join our Easter Day Balloon Race, it’s a 7 day computer simulation race where everything is real except the balloon! It’s 100% environmentally friendly with no litter or risk of harm to wildlife.

Each balloon costs just £3 and you can buy as many as you like. You can buy a balloon in memory of a loved one, as an Easter gift or simply to have some Easter fun.

You can personalised each balloon by giving it a name, colour, shape and pattern. In addition to this, you can select different features, such as thickness of latex, weight and the amount of helium which will determine its flight performance to increase your chances of winning.

Raise funds for Rennie Grove and enjoy this fun event with friends and family from the comfort of home where you can track your balloons live 24/7 on Google Maps and satellites as they gently float across the virtual sky. The specialist software uses live weather data to determine the progress of each balloon once the race has launched. You can alter your balloon’s parameters at any time to give yourself a better chance of winning.

Setting off from Jerusalem Old City, your balloons along with hundreds of others will be ‘released’ on Easter Sunday, 4th April 2021 at 12pm (noon) and race for 7 days, finishing on Sunday 11th April at 12pm (noon).

HOW TO TAKE PART
Simply sign-up and create an account. This will allow you to track your balloons and be contacted if you win a prize. Once you've paid for your balloon you can then name, personalise, and decorate your balloon via your dashboard by choosing the shape, colour, and pattern, plus the helium amount and thickness.

Virtual balloons can also make the perfect ‘Virtual Easter Gift’. Simply buy a balloon activation code for £3 each and send the code to the recipient for them to activate. To join the race, gift codes must be activated by 11.30am on Easter Sunday. The gift recipient can decorate, name, and track their balloon themselves. They may even win a prize!

PRIZES
The balloon that has reached the furthest when the race finishes seven days later, will win a prize (please note that this race is open to all, not just Rennie Grove supporters and prizes are awarded to the winners across all entries, so it is not guaranteed that one of the Rennie Grove balloons will win):

NATIONAL STAR PRIZES - for the top 12 balloons travelling the furthest from all charities joining this race:
* 1st prize - £500 cash
* 2nd prize - Apple iPad
* 10 x £10 national book tokens. Day Balloon Race

The furthest Rennie Grove balloon, will win a Rennie Grove Easter Hamper as a thank you for supporting Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
