Welcome to PwC Scotland’s first ever Virtual Balloon Race!

PwC Scotland are fundraising for Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). This year has been challenging for all charities and CHAS has worked hard to evolve their support to meet the changing needs of children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland during these uncertain times.

They have expanded their CHAS at Home service, worked in partnership with NHS colleagues in hospitals across the country and their two hospices, Robin and Rachel House, have remained open throughout the pandemic for emergency and end of life care. Back in April CHAS launched the UK’s first virtual hospice which many families have described as ‘a lifeline’.

CHAS’s voluntary income is predicted to drop by 40% this year so the funds raised by The PwC Foundation will ensure they can continue their vital work and meet the growing need for their services across Scotland.

We would love you to take part in our Christmas Day Race to help raise funds for CHAS.This balloon race is completely virtual so environmentally friendly too!

How do you join in the fun?

Buy your balloons. You’ve got to be in it to win it! Each balloon costs just £3 and you can buy as many balloons as you like to help us raise funds for CHAS. You can even gift a balloon to someone.
Personalise your balloons and have some fun giving your balloon a name, choose its colour, shape and pattern!
The direction and distance the balloons fly is based completely on the way you customise your balloon, and the weather during the week after they have been released.
Other hazards can also affect your balloon's flight, for example watch out for low flying geese if your balloon doesn't have enough helium!
You can track your balloon as often as you like. The race will last 7 days and uses real live weather data!
The winner of the race is the balloon that’s flown the furthest in ANY direction.

The race launches at 12noon on the 25th December, CHRISTMAS DAY, from Santa’s Village in Lapland.

The race is National so you will see balloons from other charities and schools, but we also have some fabulous prices just for PwC CHAS entries!
