Please join us in marking the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation by supporting our eco-friendly virtual balloon race. The Race will launch on Coronation Day, Wednesday 2nd June 2021 from Westminster Abbey at 12noon, and takes place over the course of 7 days. It’s an internet based, virtual balloon race that uses real weather data and google maps for 24/7 real-time flight path tracking so you can track your personalised balloon(s) as they travel.

You can buy, design and customise as many balloons as you wish - deciding on shape, colour, name and how much air to fill your balloon(s) with and your balloon(s) will be automatically entered into the race. Each computer generated balloon costs £3

When the race launches you will be able to keep track of your personalised balloon(s) via this platform using Google maps as it travels.

Money raised from balloon purchases will go towards supporting the work of WADE. Please feel free to purchase as many balloons as you like!

WADE has been supporting the over 60’s of Wokingham for almost 50 years, but the past year has been the toughest in our long history. Enforced closures during lockdowns and cancelled fundraising events has meant anticipated losses of just over £100,000 in our current financial year.

We are now open again ( but still with only limited numbers) providing a friendly, caring and stimulating environment for our members.

We aim to give our members a break from their own homes and also day respite for carers, whether immediate family or professionals, who can be confident that their dependants are being well looked after in a caring and professional environment.

We provide our members with a healthy, freshly cooked two course midday meal, morning and afternoon refreshments. Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chiropody and hairdressing services are also available.

We are looking to develop our services to offer more specialised support for people with dementia. However the financial impact of the covid pandemic has seriously affected our ability to do this.

We urgently need your support to continue and develop our services for the over 60s of Wokingham.
