It’s up, up and away for Waynflete Infants’ School on Sunday 14th February! While we fully appreciate and understand that this is a difficult time for many, we are hoping that some of you may enjoy taking part in this fun event from the comfort of your own home. We all need something to lift our spirits, so we are excited to announce that our latest PTFA adventure is a Virtual Valentine’s Balloon Race!

Everything is real except the balloons! You can pick your favourite colour balloon(s), decorate it, add a personal message then sit back and let your balloon fly! You can alter your balloon’s properties in order to try to give yourself the best advantage. Balloons can “pop” in the same way as real ones do, so think about how you decorate or change your balloon. (NB This is virtual race so totally environmentally friendly and there is no risk to wildlife!).

You can buy a virtual balloon(s) at a cost just £3 each by clicking the link at the foot of this page. You are welcome to purchase as many as you would like. Let’s see if we can ‘burst’ our target of £200. The competition lasts for 7 days and all money raised goes to Waynflete Infants’ School.

There are other causes taking part in the race and the Star Prizes (are for all charities joining the race):
1st - £500 cash prize
2nd - iPad
And 10 x £10 book tokens

There are also some AMAZING PRIZES EXCLUSIVELY for our top 3 Waynflete Balloons!! These include a photographic portrait shoot of your family or pet provided by Sophie Boucher. A child friendly illustrated world map provided by Global Mapping. A hamper and a £50 car service voucher kindly provided by PUG1OFF. All the prizes have ‘no strings’ attached!

The launch site is from the Eiffel Tower! View the live launch on the 14th February at midday and watch your balloon fly into the sky. You can track your own balloon 24/7 on Google Maps to see how well you are doing. After 7 days the winning balloon is the one that has flown the furthest, as measured in a straight line from the launch location. For more information take a look at this website.

The race is open to everyone. Why not ‘float’ the idea by your friends and extended family. Please share the link on Facebook and everywhere you can. You can even gift a balloon. We will post the top 3 leaders daily on Facebook.
